color is a distraction,
perhaps sometimes our world is too
perhaps sometimes our world is too
In a world dominated by light and the lack of it, when is there a quiet moment to see its true form? When do color and context leave us in a solitude to appreciate the forms that are created by the power that keeps us alive? For a few moments, they do here. The complicated black and white replaced with light and shadow, let yourself experience simplicity as long as before you start losing yourself to a world whose peace is all too sweet.
This is a series whose birth was as natural as its forms. While in my backyard with two huge sheets of whiteboard that I was using to photograph myself for another project, I took a moment to admire the shadows of objects as they shaped the light falling on the sheets leaning on the backyard fence. With each move of the sheets, I found the shadows hiding in the context of our world, on its many surfaces and textures, and followed my curiosity forward.
